His early life was marked by a fierce dedication to upholding the Mosaic law, and he quickly distinguished himself as a fervent Pharisee. The pivotal moment in Paul's life occurred on the road to Damascus. In a dramatic encounter, he was struck blind by a heavenly light and heard the voice of Jesus Christ. This transformative experience led to a radical conversion, turning Saul the persecutor into Paul the follower of Christ. The scales fell from his eyes, both literally and metaphorically, as he embraced a new mission: to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles. Paul's missionary journeys became legendary. He embarked on three major expeditions, traveling across the Roman Empire to spread the message of Christianity. His letters, now integral parts of the New Testament, were written to the communities he founded or supported during his travels. These epistles, filled with theological insights and practical advice, continue to guide Christians today. One of the central themes in Paul's teachings is the concept of grace. He emphasized that salvation is a gift from God, attainable not through adherence to the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. This revolutionary idea challenged the prevailing legalistic mindset of his time and laid the groundwork for a more inclusive Christianity. Paul's theology also delved into the intricate relationship between faith and works. While affirming the importance of faith as the foundation of salvation, he argued that genuine faith would naturally manifest in righteous deeds and a transformed life. This nuanced perspective sought to bridge the gap between faith and ethical conduct.

The Court ruled then that public schools could compel students to salute the American flag and recite the Pledge of Allegiance despite the students' religious objections to these practices.
